Helpful Partners

The Sewing Machine Project is fortunate to call the following individuals and groups our partners.  Links to their sites, if available, are included.

Bernina  has helped the SMP by donating machines for use in New Orleans school classrooms as well as in the Antigona NGO in Skenderaj, Kosovo and in Houston, TX after Hurricane Harvey.

Babylock  has donated machines to the SMP for use by several organizations including the Latino Commission on Aids, the Kufi Club in Chicago and more recently, to groups in Houston, TX after Hurricane Harvey.

Brother Sewing Machines has donated over 500 machines for our national and local programs. We are working on ways to continue to develop this important partnership.

AllBrands out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana has been incredibly generous! Donating 100 Brother machines for our Haiti initiative as well as acting as a collection site in the state of Louisiana barely scratches the surface. AllBrands has donated machines to various initiatives as well as sharing our work and helping us make connections. We are so grateful!

Bluefig bags gives us beautiful sewing machine totes as well as notions totes, all embroidered with our logo!

SVP (Singer/Viking/Pfaff)  has partnered with donations of new machines to the New Orleans Recreation Department, Bronx High School, the Sewing Girls of Jennings, Louisiana, Florida’s South Trail Libraries and Swannee River Library, and Love International’s Kosovo initiative. We are incredibly grateful and excited to nurture this relationship into the future.

Madison Gas and Electric has been behind us from the start. For several years they gave us safe warehouse space for our machines and helped with launching shipments.

Hans’ Sewing and Vacuum – I began The Sewing Machine Project while working at Hans’ Sewing in Madison. Although  Hans’ closed in June 2008 after 54 years of service, their support is deeply felt and remembered.

Kiwanis Club of Madison – The Madison Kiwanians helped us get our start.  They have collected donations through the Kiwanis Foundation and many of the members have made generous individual donations. Their generous spirit, kindness and continuous support have been incredibly helpful.

Madison South Rotary – Madison South Rotary supports our local programs with a generous annual grant.

Private Family Foundations find us and see that our mission aligns with theirs. Their financial support is a win-win as it helps us with our mission and helps them distribute funds knowing their generosity makes such a difference.
