The Sewing Machine Project is fortunate to call the following individuals and groups our partners. Links to their sites, if available, are included.
All Brands out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana has been a helpful partner for many years, donating 100
Brother sewing machines for our Haiti initiative in 2010 as well as 25 sewing machines
for Hurricane Harvey relief in Houston, Texas in 2017. All Brands locations in Texas and
Louisiana are SMP collection sites. Our friendship and partnership with AllBrands is
enduring and we are grateful for all of the ways they have supported and continued to
support our efforts.
Arrow Sewing has been a proud supporter of the SMP for many years, supplying their quality sewing tables to accompany machine donations. We are excited to establish a more formal partnership with Arrow in 2023, as Arrow shares the mission of the SMP with their audience and matches donations! Stay tuned for more information!
Bernina helped the SMP by donating machines in our early years, for use in New Orleans
school classrooms as well as in the Antigona NGO in Skenderaj, Kosovo and in
Houston, TX after Hurricane Harvey.
Famore Cutlery has become an enduring friend and partner to the SMP with donations of high quality shears and cutting implements. Their responsiveness and kindness is such a gift.
Mettler donates high quality thread for use in our local programs. One cannot underestimate the value of high quality thread and we are so grateful.
SVP (Singer/Viking/Pfaff) partnered with the SMP in our early years with donations of new machines to the New Orleans Recreation Department, Bronx High School, the Sewing Girls of Jennings, Louisiana, Florida’s South Trail Libraries and Swannee River Library, and Love International’s Kosovo initiative.
We are so grateful to the supportive family foundations that find resonance in the work we do. If you know of a foundation that would be interested in the Sewing Machine Project, please tell them about us and share a link to our website!
