Latino Commission on AidsThe Latino Commission on Aids is dedicated to resolving the HIV crisis in the Latino community, through providing compassionate, comprehensive and culturally competent support services. They’re based in Brooklyn, NY. When they launched their new Oasis Wellness Center they wanted to offer more than just health resources and asked their clients for suggestions of what they wished to learn. Over and over again the answer was “sewing”.

We received their application and shared it with Baby Lock, asking if they’d be willing to fulfill this request and did they ever! 10 new machines arrived yesterday!

Working with a professional seamstress out of NY the students will be learning sewing and patternmaking, with an eye to not only sew for themselves but also to begin small businesses sewing for others.

Thank you, Baby Lock, for your generous donation and for your compassion. We are so grateful.
